Haryana Govt Unveils Cashless Medical Facility for Govt Employees

The Haryana government has launched a cashless medical facility for government employees and their dependents. Implementation of this scheme is carried out through the Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority (State Health Authority).

The procedures listed under this cashless scheme are expected to be completely cashless and the hospitals will get their claims approved from a single platform within a specified time frame.

Moreover, these services will be available to the beneficiaries in all the hospitals empanelled with the Director General of Health Services under this scheme.

Additionally, e-card/CCHF card will be issued to all the beneficiaries to avail of benefits under the scheme. The beneficiaries can avail of benefits using payee code, Aadhaar number or Parivar Pehchan Patra (family ID) number.

The state government had initiated the scheme on a pilot basis, initially covering employees from the fisheries and horticulture departments, offering cashless healthcare facilities starting November 1st, 2023.

In the latest update, the coverage has been expanded to include all regular government employees and the entire expenditure under the scheme will be borne by the state government.

The scheme covers six life-threatening emergencies including cardiac emergency, cerebral haemorrhage, coma, electric shock, third and fourth-stage cancer, and any kind of accidents as per the existing provisions, along with all types of indoor treatments/daycare procedures, catering to the healthcare needs.

Further, the scheme is expected to provide more efficient, seamless, hassle-free and time-bound services to the beneficiaries and other stakeholders.

Moreover, at the inaugural event, Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor, Haryana, along with Manohar Lal Khattar, CM, Haryana, also distributed Ayushman cards to the beneficiaries.

On Haryana Day, the state government expanded the Ayushman/Chirayu Scheme to offer coverage to families with an annual income ranging from INR 1.8 Lakh to INR 3 Lakh. Earlier, it was confined to families with an annual income below INR 1.8 Lakh. It now encompasses an additional 38,000 families.

The Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Haryana Yojana was introduced to further extend the Ayushman Bharat scheme’s reach and inclusivity. It was merged to expand its coverage further enhancing the healthcare and well-being of the people of Haryana.

Earlier, several state governments took such initiatives including Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. These schemes aim to provide comprehensive health insurance at low premiums to the citizens of India, ensuring that healthcare is accessible and affordable for all.
