The product targets the high cost of diabetes management, aiming to provide a budget-friendly option for patients across India.

Mumbai-based Zeno Health, an omnichannel platform for affordable generic medicines, introduced a new affordable insulin product under its brand, GoodAid.

The product targets the high cost of diabetes management, aiming to provide a budget-friendly option for patients across India.

GoodAid, established to tackle issues of authenticity, availability, and affordability in the pharmaceutical sector, has introduced over 350 product lines in the past three years. These span 18 therapeutic areas, including cardiology and diabetes, and are available in various forms, such as tablets and capsules.

Sharing insights, Siddharth Gadia, cofounder, GoodAid and Zeno Health, said, "According to a WHO survey, the alarming number of diabetes cases registered in India is just a fraction of the total number of affected patients. The ever-increasing medical expense is one of the reasons why many patients avoid testing to detect the disease in the first place.”

He added that the research and development team at GoodAid is tirelessly working on finding solutions for various chronic diseases, including diabetes.

Growing Concerns for Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic condition resulting from the pancreas's inability to produce enough insulin or the body's ineffective use of the insulin produced. GoodAid recently conducted a customer survey, revealing that over 50% of respondents preferred a cost-effective insulin solution.

Responding to this demand, GoodAid developed and launched its new insulin product. This initiative is part of its broader strategy to impact customer savings positively.

The newly launched insulin product will be available in Zeno Health's 180+ stores in Mumbai and Pune. By the end of the financial year, the startup plans to extend its availability to local stores in Maharashtra and West Bengal, with further expansion across India in the next three years.

Strategic Expansion Through Acquisition

Zeno Health recently acquired Tablt Pharmacy, a Kolkata-based online pharmacy startup, to strengthen its presence in Eastern India. This acquisition aligns with Zeno Health's expansion plans to solidify its footprint in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

Tablt Pharmacy has been serving Tier II to Tier VI geographies in Eastern India, operating nearly 300 franchises across the region and catering to over 200,000 consumers.

Recently, Zeno Health forged a partnership with Dvara Health Finance (DHF) to enhance healthcare in rural India.

Backed by a team of over 530 skilled pharmacists, the company serves the healthcare requirements of over 2.5 million contented customers, resulting in savings surpassing INR 550 Cr.

The Lightbox Venture-backed online pharmacy startup raised its Series C funding in February, bagging $25 million. The round was led by Korean investment firm SITC Investments.

Established in 2017 by IIT Bombay alumni Siddharth Gadia and Girish Agarwal, Zeno Health also offers franchisees of a pharmacy network under Zeno Health and sells medicines online, all in Maharashtra.
