With the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in India, there is an increasing demand for advanced diagnostic technologies.
The Versana Premier R3 integrates artificial intelligence with automated features to assist clinicians in dynamic tissue imaging, volume calculations, and workflow optimization. The system also includes a self-learning onboarding tool, enabling healthcare professionals to adapt to new workflows efficiently.
Chaitanya Sarawate, Managing Director, Wipro GE Healthcare South Asia, stated, “At Wipro GE Healthcare, we continue to make advancements in AI, investing in foundation models that can help enhance precision care, ease clinical workflows, and enable better patient outcomes. AI is central to building a future where healthcare is personalized, preventive, and affordable. The launch of our Versana Premier R3 is yet another testament to our commitment towards the delivery of ‘Made in India MedTech – for India and the world.’
The Versana Premier R3 has ‘VisionBoost architecture’ and 8-million-channel digital processing, ensuring high image clarity. The system is compatible with 23 probes, allowing dynamic organ scanning to improve diagnostic precision.
Anup Kumar, Business Head, Ultrasound, Wipro GE Healthcare, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “We are very proud to launch the Versana Premier R3, our state-of-the-art ‘Made in India’ ultrasound system. With the growing NCD burden in the country, there is a pressing need for advanced patient-centric technologies that can provide faster, personalized, and more accurate diagnoses. Powered by AI, Versana Premier R3 delivers exceptional image clarity and versatile organ scanning, enhancing diagnostic precision and empowering clinicians to make timely and well-informed decisions.”
A recent PwC report indicated that 57% of healthcare providers in India are integrating AI-powered solutions, surpassing global adoption rates. The launch of the Versana Premier R3 aligns with India’s increasing reliance on AI-driven medical technology to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
Wipro GE Healthcare has a longstanding commitment to local manufacturing. The company’s PLI factory in Bengaluru also produces other key medical devices, including the Revolution Aspire CT system and Optima IGS320 AI-enabled Cath Lab. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to invest over INR 8,000 Cr in manufacturing output and research and development over the next five years.
