Viraa Care, a healthtech platform focused on improving infant and child nutrition, has raised $108,000 in a pre-seed funding round.
This investment, which includes foreign direct investment (FDI) from a French investor, is intended to support the platform’s mission to provide Indian families with comprehensive, research-backed guidance on infant feeding and childcare.
The company aims to expand its offerings by drawing inspiration from successful child healthcare frameworks in Northern Europe.
The funding will support Viraa Care in building a system that advocates for science-based nutrition and childcare practices, steering parents away from heavily marketed processed products and focusing on fresh, nutrient-dense foods.
The funding will enhance Viraa Care’s resources and programs, which provide parents with evidence-based advice on topics ranging from breastfeeding to infant nutrition.
Further, the company’s approach diverges from marketing-driven narratives, promoting choices that align with scientific recommendations rather than commercial interests.
"Indian mothers shoulder the responsibility of feeding their children, yet they often lack the right support. Many are influenced by food company marketing to make choices that do not always prioritize their child’s best interests. At Viraa Care, we aim to empower mothers by offering clear, unbiased advice grounded in science. This is not just a service—it is a movement to transform how our country approaches feeding, child nutrition, and child health," said Sonal Babbar-Bhardwaj, Co-founder of Viraa Care.
With the new investment, Viraa Care aims to expand its live courses on infant and pediatric nutrition, offering parents unbiased insights into child nutrition.
The platform plans to guide families toward healthier food choices and equip them with practical knowledge to support child development.
