One of the key features of the eSwasthya Dham portal is the generation of Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA).

The Uttarakhand Government's Department of Health and Family Welfare has integrated its eSwasthya Dham portal with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), according to an official press release on Thursday.

Launched in September 2021, ABDM aims to create a unified digital health infrastructure across India.

The eSwasthya Dham portal is specifically designed to monitor the health parameters of pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra, which includes visits to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

This integration is set to enhance the health monitoring and management of the pilgrims, ensuring their journey is safe and smooth.

One of the key features of the eSwasthya Dham portal is the generation of Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA). Pilgrims can create their ABHA 14-digit number through the portal in just 1-2 minutes.

The creation of ABHA IDs will help establish a reliable digital health identity for the pilgrims, aiding in the management of their health records, according to the release.

Given the large number of pilgrims and the challenging conditions at high altitudes, tracking health conditions such as heart diseases, hypertension, respiratory issues, and diabetes becomes crucial.

The ABHA system ensures that immediate medical interventions can be provided during emergencies.

So far, over 65 Cr ABHA IDs have been created nationwide. These accounts allow citizens to securely store and manage their health records, share them with doctors as needed, and avail of various digital health services. This includes avoiding long queues at healthcare facilities and facilitating doctor appointments.

Further, pilgrims can access the eSwasthya Dham portal to generate their ABHA IDs and learn more about the rules and guidelines of the Yatra. A helpline number (104) has also been established to assist pilgrims with any queries or issues.

Recent Healthcare Initiatives for Pilgrims

Just days back, ONGC partnered with the Health and Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, to establish two 100-bed hospitals at the twin base camps of the Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir.

In another development, last month, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), with the union health secretary Apurva Chandra unveiled a document titled "Medical Care Arrangements for Haj Pilgrimage." The guidelines were issued in response to the death toll incidents amid the extreme heatwave this year.
