This solution is set to integrate patient education and treatment information within existing digital touchpoints, aiming to improve patient outcomes by providing tailored information at critical points in the care journey.
US-based PatientPoint, a digital health company, has launched PatientPoint Focus, a tool designed to enhance patient engagement outside the doctor’s office.
This solution integrates patient education and treatment information within existing digital touchpoints such as check-in systems and patient portals. By providing tailored information at critical points in the care journey, it aims to improve patient outcomes.
The newly launched tool is designed to connect healthcare providers and life sciences companies with patients at key moments, ensuring that the right information is delivered to the right patient at the right time.
This approach is expected to drive improved health outcomes by empowering patients with the information they need to make informed decisions about their care.
Moreover, PatientPoint Focus enables personalized patient interactions, ensuring that patients receive relevant health information before, during, and after their visits.
The solution works through existing communication channels that patients commonly use to connect with their healthcare providers.
By integrating with electronic health records (EHRs), the tool seeks to deliver educational content, including materials sponsored by life sciences companies, directly to patients based on consented EHR data.
AJ Schultz, PatientPoint's Chief Product and Strategy Officer, said, "There is a clear opportunity to better engage patients in their health journey, and we know when patients are engaged, they take better actions toward their health." Schultz emphasized that PatientPoint Focus provides patients with access to necessary information from both their doctors and relevant health brands, helping them become more active participants in their care.
PatientPoint’s partner network, which includes digital partners integrated across more than 40 EHRs, currently engages over 80 million patients annually. To ensure privacy and security, the company has partnered with Datavant, a tokenization engine, to de-identify and tokenize patient data.
This collaboration aims to maintain data privacy while enabling the delivery of precise, targeted information to patients.
Schultz spoke on the future of healthcare engagement, noting, "We see a future where a single ecosystem seamlessly connects brands, providers, and patients, delivering personalized patient experiences that empower better health. The right intervention, delivered at the right time, to the right patient, in the right way, has the potential to empower patients and drive positive health outcomes."
PatientPoint Focus will be available in BETA starting in October 2024.
