Following its launch, the myCGHS app will be available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, free of charge.

The Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra has unveiled the myCGHS app, which is designed specifically for the iOS ecosystem.

The newly launched mobile application aims to provide central government health scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries with improved access to electronic health records, information, and resources.

Developed by the technical teams of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) Himachal Pradesh and NIC Health Team, myCGHS offers a plethora of features tailored to enhance information and accessibility for CGHS beneficiaries.

The app facilitates various services, including booking and cancellation of online appointments, downloading the CGHS card and index card, accessing lab reports from CGHS labs, checking medicine history, and verifying medical reimbursement claim status.

Additionally, users can access referral details, locate nearby wellness centers, hospitals, labs, and dental units, and stay updated with news and highlights in the healthcare sector. Contact details for wellness centers and offices are also available within the app.

Adopted Security Measures

Incorporating robust security measures, myCGHS ensures the confidentiality and integrity of users' data. Features such as two-factor authentication and the functionality of mPIN have been implemented to safeguard sensitive information.

Talking about the launch, secretary Chandra, said, "The myCGHS app is an essential leap for CGHS in the realm of healthcare services. It empowers CGHS beneficiaries with convenient access to essential healthcare features right at their fingertips. This initiative aligns with the government's vision of leveraging technology to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services."

With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, the app aims to revolutionize the healthcare experience for CGHS beneficiaries.

Reportedly, the myCGHS app will be available for download on both iOS and Android platforms, free of charge. The government has directed the CGHS beneficiaries to leverage this platform to streamline their healthcare experience.

This follows the latest directive issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare mandating the compulsory linking of the CGHS beneficiary ID with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID for the digital integration of healthcare services.

This initiative falls under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which aims to streamline various government health schemes into a unified digital platform.

In a similar development recently, Prof S P Singh Baghel and Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, virtually inaugurated the Kilkari program, a Mobile Health (m-health) initiative, and Mobile Academy in Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The Kilkari Program, a centralized interactive voice response (IVR) based mobile health service, aims to provide weekly audio messages on reproductive maternal, neonatal, and child health care to beneficiaries.

The Mobile Academy is a free audio training course designed for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) to enhance their knowledge and communication skills.
