In this significant stride, Varanasi is poised to become the first district in India to provide Ayushman cards to all eligible beneficiaries, encompassing a full 100% coverage.

Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has introduced the Ayushman App in Hindi and English for the people of Varanasi, UP.  The app's deployment aims to achieve the ambitious goal of distributing Ayushman cards to all beneficiaries in Banaras from September 17, marking PM Modi's birthdate, to Gandhi Jayanti, October 2.

In this significant stride, Varanasi is poised to become the first district in India to provide Ayushman cards to all eligible beneficiaries, encompassing a full 100% coverage.

The unveiling of the Ayushman Bharat app in Hindi and English by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya marked this monumental step recently.

The app's previous availability only in Marathi has been supplemented by its expanded linguistic accessibility. Notably, this app equips individuals to generate their Ayushman cards conveniently.

The event included a comprehensive review of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which transpired at the Uduppa Auditorium of BHU, spearheaded by the Union Health Minister.

This occasion also witnessed the proficient training of BJP workers, office bearers, and public representatives. The attendees were provided with an instructive demonstration on the creation and download process of Ayushman cards via the app.

Notably, these participants have been entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of facilitating door-to-door Ayushman card issuance for beneficiaries.

Dr. Mandaviya revealed that the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency comprises 12 Lakh beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat, of which approximately 6 Lakh beneficiaries have already received their cards. The remaining 6 Lakh cards are slated for completion within a 15-day Seva Pakhwara period.

Dr. Mandaviya stressed the importance of public representatives organising beneficial camps at the mandal and village levels through their respective offices.

By doing so, they can effectively extend this invaluable service to the economically disadvantaged population. The Ayushman card, once obtained, secures a substantial health insurance coverage of up to INR 5 Lakh.

Further, beneficiaries can avail of free medical treatment in Varanasi and prominent government or private hospitals nationwide.

During the event, Deputy CEOs of the National Health Mission (NHM), Basant Garg and Kaushalesh, diligently trained the BJP Mandal office bearers, public representatives, and other attendees at the auditorium.

The training focused on navigating the Ayushman Bharat app, available for download from the Play Store. They were duly informed that the app enables them to facilitate card issuance for themselves and others listed as beneficiaries.

In a momentous gesture, the first Ayushman card generated via the app was presented to Sunita Devi of Satyabalpur Sutavalpur village in the Araziline block.
