Union Health Minister JP Nadda has recently inaugurated a Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, Radio Nucleotide Therapy Ward, and Free Generic Dispensary at the National Cancer Institute, AIIMS-2, Badhsa.
Speaking at a two-day national seminar on cancer at the institute, Nadda emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
“Providing world-class medical facilities to every Indian is a top priority. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of doctors and scientists, we have made significant progress in this direction,” he said.
The Health Minister further noted that in the past, many patients had to sell property to afford cancer treatment.
“With initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the availability of affordable cancer medicines, all cancer patients can now access necessary treatment,” he added.
During his visit, the minister also reviewed the existing facilities and assessed ongoing healthcare services at the institute.
