Tamil Nadu-based Polymatech Electronics has unveiled its latest medical device - Vein Detection Light to address the global issue of accurate vein detection in medical procedures.
The newly launched device offers high-definition vein detection with, real-time full HD visualisation (1920 X 1080), ensuring identification of subdermal veins. Further, the device weighs five lbs. which offers convenience to healthcare professionals across various medical settings.
The Vein Detection Light is tailored for the IV Hydration, home healthcare, home infusion, and ambulance markets. Moreover, it is the only portable device offering Full HD images of subdermal veins across diverse conditions, including obesity, dark skin, excessive body hair, critical illness, old age, newborns, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
This technology is particularly useful in challenging cases where time is of the essence, such as in critically ill patients where the failure rate of vein punctures can range from 10% to 40%.
Commenting on the launch, Eswara Rao Nandam, founder, Polymatech Electronics, said, “Vein Detection Light is a testament to our commitment to innovation in semiconductor technology. According to the National Library of Medicine, 67 % of IV infusions face failure, necessitating the movement of the catheter or IV bag. This revolutionary medical device underscores our dedication to addressing such critical healthcare needs, providing professionals with a tool that ensures precision and efficiency in vein detection.”
Founded in 2007 by Nandam, Polymatech Electronics specialises in the manufacturing of LED semiconductor chips. The company aims to address critical healthcare needs, providing professionals with a tool that ensures precision and efficiency in vein detection. With this new innovation, Polymatech Electronics aims to transform the landscape of medical procedures with its advanced products.
In a similar development, Healthium Medtech unveiled ‘TRUMAS’ sutures for enhanced minimal access surgery. TRUMAS offers a diverse array of needle and suture combinations, catering comprehensively to the needs of surgeons. These innovations include anti-reflective needles to alleviate eye fatigue, optimally curved needles for ease of introduction and manoeuvrability, square body needles for enhanced grip, and well-sized, short-length barb sutures.
