The policy will focus on advancing key areas such as cell and gene therapy (CGT), genomics, biologics, precision medicine, peptides, digital innovation, and advanced research and development (R&D).

The Telangana government is set to introduce a dedicated Life Sciences policy in the coming weeks, aiming to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a leading hub for pharmaceutical and biotechnology innovation.

Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan announced the initiative during the inauguration of Tenthpin AI Labs (TAIL), a new global center for AI-driven transformation in Life Sciences.

The policy will focus on advancing key areas such as cell and gene therapy (CGT), genomics, biologics, precision medicine, peptides, digital innovation, and advanced research and development (R&D).

Ranjan highlighted that Hyderabad’s strong technological and industrial ecosystem makes it well-positioned to lead in Life Sciences innovation.

Hyderabad’s Growing Presence in Life Sciences

Hyderabad has emerged as a major player in the global Life Sciences sector, with over 1,800 pharmaceutical manufacturing units and 1,400 technology companies employing nearly 10 lakh professionals.

The city hosts seven of the world’s top ten Life Sciences companies, reflecting its growing importance in the global pharmaceutical and biotech landscape.

The new policy is expected to further drive growth by encouraging investment in cutting-edge research and supporting the development of innovative healthcare solutions.

Tenthpin AI Labs to Support Industry Collaboration

Switzerland-based Tenthpin Management Consultants selected Hyderabad for its expansion due to the city’s strong ecosystem and government support.

The newly launched Tenthpin AI Labs will serve as an incubation hub for Life Sciences companies, facilitating collaboration with industry experts and enabling the rapid development of proof-of-concept projects.

Tenthpin Director Bart Reijs stated that the facility will help companies scale AI-driven solutions more effectively.

The Telangana government’s proactive approach through the new Life Sciences policy is expected to attract further investment and enhance Hyderabad’s status as a center for pharmaceutical and biotech innovation.
