The technology transfer, which is integral to this collaboration, is poised to elevate the Indian valve industry by providing access to global designs and solutions.

Tecnik Fluid Controls (TFCPL) has partnered with ITT Industries Inc (ITT), a US-based diversified industrial manufacturer. The collaboration is poised to manufacture valves specifically tailored for the pharmaceutical sector in India.

In this joint venture, ITT will not only provide an initial investment but also transfer crucial technology to facilitate valve manufacturing in India. Over time, ITT plans to procure valves from the joint venture for distribution in the US market.

This strategic move is expected to catalyse rapid growth, with the partners targeting a 40% market share within the next 3 to 4 years.

Speaking on the collaboration, Bharat Ajwani, managing director of TFCPL, said, "At Tecnik, we pride ourselves on being a part of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and delivering world-class valves to our clients meeting the stringent requirements of ASME BPE. We look forward to our partnership with ITT. With access to the leading technology and best practices they bring to the joint venture, we believe we can now become an undisputed leader in our market and accelerate growth and expansion."

The technology transfer integral to this collaboration is poised to elevate the Indian valve industry by providing access to global designs and solutions. Tecnik's current market share of approximately 15% is expected to surge, with projections indicating potential growth to INR 150 Cr and a market leadership position of 40% or more.

Kasturi Rangan, vice president at ITT, noted Tecnik's standing in the industry, saying, "In the growing market for sanitary diaphragm valves and customised block valves for the Biotech industry, Tecnik stands out as one of the most well-established, differentiated providers and a clear leader in the manufacturer of flow component systems to all verticals of the industry."

Founded in 1996 and based in Boisar, near Mumbai, Tecnik leads the design and production of Pneumatic Globe Control Valves, Lined Globe Control Valves, and on-off valves. These valves cater to various applications across diverse industries, such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, engineering, oil and gas, petrochemicals, refineries, cement, sugar, and power.

In a similar development, Aragen, a prominent contract research development and manufacturing organisation (CRDMO) specialising in small molecules and biologics, recently unveiled plans to establish a biologics manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, representing a $30 million investment.

The facility, covering approximately 160,000 square meters, will include process development labs and multiple Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing suites, complete with supporting functions including analytical and microbiology quality control labs.
