Tata 1mg has expanded its 30-minute medicine delivery service to Lucknow, Jaipur, and Noida, aiming to provide faster access to essential medicines.
Co-founder Gaurav Agarwal announced the expansion on LinkedIn, stating that the service follows the Gurgaon model, where orders are fulfilled directly from retail stores.
“Expansion in these new cities follows our Gurgaon approach, i.e. faster delivery from our retail stores,” Agarwal said.
With deliveries now being processed through stores, the company is tackling challenges such as maintaining in-store customer experience while meeting rapid delivery demands. Tata 1mg has focused on staff training, inventory management, and upgrading its retail technology to ensure seamless operations.
Agarwal also revealed that the company is testing sub-30-minute deliveries, calling it a major logistical challenge.
''We’re excited about this expansion, and are bringing faster deliveries to more cities as quickly as we can. Additionally, we are starting to pilot sub-30 minute deliveries as well - which is a whole different level of challenge,'' Agarwal added.
Situated in Gurugram, India, Tata 1mg, formerly known as 1mg, operates as a healthcare platform offering an array of services such as e-pharmacy, diagnostics, virtual consultations, and health-related content. The company's inception took place in April 2015, a venture initiated by Prashant Tandon, Gaurav Agarwal, and Vikas Chauhan.
