In addition to hospital technologies, Getinge is expanding its presence in life sciences, addressing the growing demand for sterile injectables and vaccines.

Swedish healthcare technology company Getinge aims to increase its market share in India's hospital technology sector from 30% to 45% over the next five years.

The firm plans to achieve this growth by introducing new products catering to premium and mid-value segments.

Getinge has been operating in India for over two decades and has installed its technologies in over 2,000 hospitals, including leading chains like Apollo Hospitals and Fortis.

The company's product portfolio expansion includes ventilators, sterilizers, operating lights, and operating tables, targeting diverse healthcare needs.

"India is a key growth market for us, and we are investing in expanding our product portfolio and strengthening our distribution network. We aim to deepen our market share, particularly in premium segments, while ensuring access to cutting-edge healthcare technology across all tiers of hospitals," said Aruna Nayak, Managing Director of Getinge India.

The Indian ventilator market, valued at approximately INR 820 Cr, is growing at an 8.12% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The premium segment alone is projected to reach INR 37.3 Cr by 2024.

Getinge plans to capitalize on this growth by enhancing its offerings in critical care, cardiovascular care, and life sciences.

In addition to hospital technologies, Getinge is expanding its presence in life sciences, addressing the growing demand for sterile injectables and vaccines.

While the company’s current market share in sterile manufacturing remains in the late single digits, it anticipates a growth rate of 30-35% in this segment.

Getinge is also set to launch innovative solutions, including a tool for radio imaging during breast and thyroid surgeries and a high-end operating table tailored for premium healthcare facilities.

These offerings are part of the company’s strategy to cater to hospitals in metro cities as well as Tier-II and Tier-III locations.

This strategic expansion positions Getinge to strengthen its foothold in India’s rapidly evolving healthcare industry, aligning with the growing need for advanced medical technologies.
