Sukoon Health's expansion aligns with efforts to meet this rising demand and ensure that individuals can access timely and effective mental health support.

Gurgaon-based Sukoon Health has unveiled its latest state-of-the-art mental health hospital in India’s silicon valley, Bengaluru.

This initiative comes as a response to the escalating demand for quality mental healthcare services in the region.

Located on New Bel Road in North Bengaluru, Sukoon Health's facility offers inpatient and outpatient treatments. The facility aims to provide holistic care tailored to individuals' specific needs.

With the inauguration of this facility, Sukoon Health aims to bridge the gap in mental health infrastructure and provide comprehensive care to individuals grappling with various mental health conditions.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Dinesh Gundu Rao, Minister, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Karnataka.

In the event, Minister Rao said, "The launch of Sukoon Health's mental health facility in Bengaluru is a commendable step towards addressing the growing mental health challenges in our society. This initiative underscores the importance of accessible and quality mental healthcare services for all individuals."

Meeting the Rising Demand

The launch of Sukoon Health's Bengaluru hospital comes when the need for enhanced mental healthcare infrastructure is paramount.

According to a detailed study by The Lancet on "The Global Burden of Disease Study 1990-2017," Karnataka reports a prevalence of 3,500 cases per 100,000 population across various mental health conditions  (without making a distinction for severity), highlighting the urgent need for enhanced mental healthcare infrastructure.

Sharing insights, Dr Satish Ramaiah, executive director, psychiatric services and the center head, Sukoon Health Bengaluru facility, said, "We aim to offer personalized and comprehensive care to individuals struggling with mental health issues.”

Through this multidisciplinary approach, the aim is to address the diverse needs of our patients and empower them on their journey toward mental wellness.

Sukoon Health's expansion aligns with efforts to meet this rising demand and ensure that individuals can access timely and effective mental health support.

Collaboration for Accessibility

In a move to enhance accessibility to mental healthcare services, Sukoon Health recently partnered with five private insurance companies to provide cashless insurance coverage for psychiatric inpatient care.

This collaboration aims to alleviate financial barriers and enable individuals to seek necessary treatment without undue financial burden.

Emphasizing the significance of this initiative, a spokesperson from Sukoon Health said, "Our collaboration with leading insurance providers reflects our commitment to making mental healthcare more accessible and inclusive. By offering cashless insurance coverage, we hope to facilitate seamless access to essential mental health services for those in need."

Founded in 2018 by Kanishk Gupta and Vidit Bahri, Sukoon Health is India's first chain of psychiatric and addiction hospitals. The company provides evidence-based care to patients in a safe and judgment-free environment.

Looking ahead, Sukoon Health envisions further expansion to meet the evolving mental health needs of communities across India.

With plans for additional centers in cities such as Mumbai and Mohali, Sukoon Health remains steadfast in its mission to revolutionize mental healthcare delivery and foster a society prioritizing mental wellness.

In a recent development, mental health tech startup Amaha secured INR 50 Cr in an extended series A funding round.

The funding was spearheaded by Fireside Ventures, contributing INR 36 Cr, with additional investments totaling INR 15.5 Cr from angel investors and family offices.

The startup offers personalized treatment and care plans catering to a spectrum of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, schizophrenia, and addictions.
