Sterling Accuris Diagnostics Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Vaibhav Analytical Services

The acquisition positions Sterling Accuris Diagnostics to actively collaborate with biotech, food, environmental, and pharmaceutical companies for their testing needs.

Ahmedabad-based Sterling Accuris Diagnostics, a diagnostic service provider, has acquired Ahmedabad-based, analytical testing platform Vaibhav Analytical Services. 

The acquisition, as shared by Rajiv Sharma, MD of Sterling Accuris Diagnostics in an official statement, aims to broaden the scope of services, particularly in pharmaceutical analytical testing.

Vaibhav Analytical Services, claims to be a NABL-accredited laboratory, is based out of Ahmedabad and adheres to international standards for pharmaceutical testing. The company's client base spans across India, and it has received approval from the Nigerian Government (NAFDAC) to be a CRIA-authorised laboratory.

Commenting on the same, Rajiv Sharma said, "This strategic move aligns with our commitment to advance healthcare through innovation and excellence in diagnostics and analytical testing services."

Commenting on the same, Gaurang Oza, partner at Vaibhav Analytical Services, said, "By joining forces with Sterling Accuris, we aim to contribute to advancements in pharmaceutical testing and ensure the highest standards of safety and efficacy."

In a parallel development, Sterling Accuris Diagnostics has entered into an alliance with VPL Diagnostic, a specialised allergy testing provider based in Ahmedabad. This strategic partnership is poised to enhance and expand the diagnostic, medical, and healthcare services offered by Sterling Accuris Diagnostics.

In the broader landscape, the healthcare sector has witnessed notable mergers and acquisitions. For example, Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche's acquisition of Carmot Therapeutics valued at close to $3.1 billion. The deal marked Roche's foray into the growing market for weight loss treatments. 

Carmot Therapeutics specialises in assets based on glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists, initially developed to control blood sugar levels in individuals with diabetes.

Meanwhile, TRUSTlab Diagnostics, based in Hyderabad, has bolstered its national presence by strategically launching six advanced laboratories. This expansion strengthens TRUSTlab Diagnostics' footprint in the healthcare sector.
