The 250-bed facility has been built with an investment of INR 250 Cr and is the seventh super-speciality hospital under the SPARSH hospital network.

SPARSH Group of Hospitals, one of Karnataka's well-known multi-speciality healthcare providers, has unveiled its latest super-speciality hospital in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

The 250-bed facility has been built with an investment of INR 250 Cr and is the seventh super-speciality hospital under the SPARSH hospital network, the hospital said in a statement.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by chief guest D K Shivakumar, Deputy CM of Karnataka, is the latest addition to the healthcare providers in the fast-growing city neighborhood.

Comprehensive Specialties

Of the 250 beds, over 50 are reserved for patients needing critical care. The facility has a dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with more than 20 beds for newborns.

It is equipped with two CATH labs and ten advanced operation theaters along with 24/7 emergency care, diagnostic services, and a drive-through pharmacy.

With 40 specialties, the hospital aims to provide comprehensive and specialized care spanning various medical disciplines through its Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, cardiac sciences, gastro sciences, renal sciences, women & childcare, head and neck surgery, trauma care, and emergency medicine, among others.

Dr Sharan Shivaraj Patil, chairman and chief orthopedic surgeon, SPARSH Group of Hospitals, Bengaluru, shared the hospital's commitment to becoming a one-stop healthcare destination, offering a wide range of treatments while emphasizing accessibility and quality.

“This new facility is a testament to our continued efforts to be a one-stop healthcare hub, offering a wide array of treatments, reaffirming our dedication to delivering world-class medical treatment accessible to all. As we expand our presence throughout Karnataka, our goal remains steadfast: to offer every citizen the comforting embrace of life’s healing touch. At SPARSH we are committed to practising the art and science of medicine while upholding our core values of Faith, Hope, and Love,” Dr Patil said.

He further noted that the hospital aims to fulfill all healthcare requirements of the community, delivering compassionate care and ensuring positive health outcomes.

Expansion Plans of SPARSH Hospital

The hospital, founded by Dr Shivraj Patil in 2006 with 120 beds and five operating rooms, over the years has grown into one of the prominent hospital chains in Bengaluru. It also has a presence outside Bengaluru in Hassan and Davangere.

The launch of the Yelahanka facility is a part of the larger expansion plan of SPARSH Hospital unveiled last year. The Group has plans to almost double capacity - touching 1400 bed capacity by 2025.

The group also plans to launch a facility in Hennur. The hospital last year also invested over INR 15 Cr in setting up three new specialities to consolidate the momentum of its expansion.

Recent Hospital Expansions in Bengaluru

Growing demand for medical facilities, increasing awareness and heightened investor activity have fuelled consolidation and expansion trends in Indian healthcare post-Covid-19 pandemic.

As a part of its larger expansion plan, Fortis Healthcare launched an 80-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with an investment of approximately INR 6-7 cr for the upgradation of the facility.

Sakra World Hospital is also in the works to establish INR 1,000 cr Multi-Super Specialty Hospital in Bengaluru. The upcoming facility, situated in Banaswadi is being built with a substantial investment of INR 1,000 cr and is slated to accommodate 500 beds upon completion.

In January this year, Rainbow Children's Hospital too launched a 100-bed facility in the growing neighborhood of Sarjapura Road.
