Samsung has unveiled its AI-powered Z20 ultrasound system at Denver's ongoing Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine conference.
The system is designed to enhance OB-GYN diagnostics, providing advanced AI features and improved ergonomics for clinicians.
The Z20 ultrasound platform integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline workflows and improve diagnostic efficiency.
The system’s Live ViewAssist feature notably offers automated labeling of up to 47 anatomic structures and performs 46 key measurements. This feature helps reduce the number of keystrokes needed by up to 94%, contributing to smoother operation during OB-GYN exams.
In addition, the Z20’s advanced software beamforming is designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy, particularly in cases involving patients with high body mass index (BMI), ensuring clearer imaging even in complex situations.
Samsung’s independent device testing has shown that it meets or exceeds all standard ergonomic measurements, indicating a strong focus on usability and clinical effectiveness.
Tracy Bury, Vice President and Head of Ultrasound USA and Global Growth Initiatives at Samsung Medison, said, “The Z20 represents a significant technology milestone for both Samsung and the broader ultrasound industry. It also reflects our commitment to breaking the iron triangle of healthcare cost, access, and quality by integrating the Z20 with a digital ecosystem for telesonography, reporting, and fleet management.”
This development comes when the healthcare industry increasingly focuses on leveraging AI to address ongoing challenges related to cost, access, and quality of care. Samsung’s new Z20 ultrasound system is expected to address these concerns by offering OB-GYN professionals more efficient and accurate diagnostic tools.
Integrating AI tools into the Z20 ultrasound platform is expected to significantly enhance the workflow of OB-GYN professionals.
With its ability to automate many of the manual tasks involved in ultrasound exams, the Z20 can help reduce clinician workload and improve overall productivity.
This is especially important in busy OB-GYN settings where time and accuracy are critical for patient care.
