The prime objective of this alliance is to support government hospitals in evolving into Centers of Excellence for clinical research, thereby enhancing their role and influence in the healthcare landscape.
Commenting on the same, V Simpson Emmanuel, MD & CEO of Roche Pharma India, said, "This collaboration positions us as knowledge partners, enabling the integration of cutting-edge clinical and digital skills. Our collective initiative aims to propel the healthcare sector forward while enhancing healthcare throughout India.”
He added, “This initiative is in line with the government's recently launched Research and Development (R&D) policy, aiming to bolster healthcare infrastructure while enhancing the skills and capabilities of healthcare professionals. With enhanced skills and capabilities, India will be better positioned to conduct clinical trials for diseases prevalent in its population and improve access to medicines."
In the program's initial phase, Roche Pharma India aims to collaborate with 10 government hospitals, keeping an objective to enhance clinical research capabilities by bolstering their existing infrastructure to conduct clinical trials according to global standards.
This augmentation will include essential facets such as training the research teams, refining processes, and embracing digital solutions for streamlined dossier submission and review by Ethics Committees.
These efforts collectively pave the way for conducting high-quality clinical research, prioritising innovative treatments, and ensuring patient safety.
