As part of the agreement, Telerad Tech will deploy NeuralAssist, a proprietary deep-learning-based software device that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse head CT scans.

The Telerad Group, remote radiology services provider, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru's National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) to improve the diagnosis and interpretation of strokes and head injuries.

This collaboration involves Telerad Group's Telerad Tech and Telerad Foundation, alongside NIMHANS, conducting research and development jointly. Their focus is on implementing stroke protocols and using AI-enhanced radiology diagnostics.

This aims to promptly identify and interpret head injuries and other traumatic conditions that need immediate medical attention. The technology utilised for this purpose is proudly Made in India.

As part of the agreement, Telerad Tech will deploy NeuralAssist, a proprietary deep-learning-based software device that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse head CT scans.

This cloud-based software system includes both on-premise and cloud modules. It integrates into RADSpa, an AI-enabled radiology workflow platform with an integrated Radiology Information System-Picture Archiving and Communication System (RIS-PACS). Both NeuralAssist and RADSpa are developed in India.

Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur, founder & CEO, chief radiologist at Teleradiology Solutions, highlighted that integrating Telerad Tech's NeuralAssist AI into clinical imaging aims to enhance diagnostics for stroke and head injuries and potentially shape healthcare guidelines and policies.

Dr. Pratima Murthy, director of NIMHANS, said they're working hard to improve at finding and treating stroke and head injuries. She welcomed the implementation of Telerad Group's cutting-edge technology in this endeavor and the collaboration for further research and development to enhance the product's capabilities.

Founded in 2002 by two Yale University-trained physicians, Teleradiology Solutions (TRS), based in Bengaluru, earned KLAS recognition as the top National Teleradiology company in the United States in 2011.

TRS offers teleradiology services encompassing CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear medicine, and Echocardiograms, serving more than 150 hospitals in 21 countries worldwide, including the United States, Singapore, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Maldives, and remote areas of India.
