Reliance-Backed Addverb Robotics to Launch India's First Humanoid Robot With Healthcare Applications by 2025

The robot is designed to process multimodal data, including vision, audio, and touch inputs, enabling real-time decision-making and adaptation across diverse industries, including healthcare, defense, retail, and energy.

Reliance-backed Addverb Robotics, a Noida-based manufacturer of industrial and warehouse robots, is venturing into humanoid robotics with plans to launch India's first AI-powered humanoid robot in 2025.

This innovation, incorporating healthcare among its target applications, positions the company to compete with global players from China, the US, and Europe. Reliance Industries holds a 56% stake in Addverb Robotics, founded in 2016.

According to Addverb, the humanoid robot will be equipped with advanced features such as Jio-powered AI, 5G connectivity, dual-arm functionalities, energy-efficient actuators, and cutting-edge GPU technology.

The robot is designed to process multimodal data, including vision, audio, and touch inputs, enabling real-time decision-making and adaptation across diverse industries, including healthcare, defense, retail, and energy.

Sangeet Kumar, CEO and co-founder of Addverb Robotics, said, “The upcoming robots will eliminate 3D jobs, i.e., chores that are dull, dirty, and/or dangerous for humans.” Highlighting its versatility, Kumar added, “Addverb’s humanoid will match global rivals in speed, height, and dexterity. Reliance is our largest consumer of robots, and we are leveraging the technology and expertise available at Reliance Jio.”

The company is also exploring innovative humanoid designs, incorporating wheels for enhanced efficiency. Kumar remarked, “We are not stopping at humanoids that only look like humans.”

Addverb's humanoid robot will feature self-learning algorithms to manage complex workflows across industries.In healthcare, it aims to support intricate tasks such as patient assistance, environment management, and adaptation to evolving care demands.
