This initiative, launched on the fifth anniversary of Medanta Lucknow, aims to enhance emergency response capabilities in the region.

Lucknow has long faced challenges in emergency healthcare, with increasing population density straining resources. To address these gaps, RED.Health has partnered with Medanta Hospital, Lucknow, to launch Uttar Pradesh’s first 5G-enabled ambulance. This initiative, launched on the fifth anniversary of Medanta Lucknow, aims to enhance emergency response capabilities in the region.

The 5G-enabled ambulance combines real-time connectivity with advanced medical care, allowing hospital specialists to guide pre-hospital treatment and improve survival rates. This service, accessible via the emergency helpline 1068, aims to reduce response times for critical cases such as cardiac arrests, road accidents, and trauma.

Prabhdeep Singh, Founder and CEO of RED.Health, remarked on the importance of timely care, saying, “Every emergency presents a race against time, and our partnership with Medanta Hospital ensures that the people of Lucknow have access to timely and superior emergency care. The integration of 5G-enabled ambulances helps transform vehicles into mobile emergency rooms, and the real-time connectivity ensures that life-saving decisions can be made instantly, with specialist consultation available from the moment our teams reach the patient.”

Key Features of the 5G Ambulance

Equipped with SyncX infrastructure, these ambulances transmit patient data to hospital emergency teams with less than two seconds of latency. This real-time data sharing allows specialists to assess patient conditions remotely and prepare necessary interventions during the ‘golden hour.’

Additionally, the ambulances are staffed by trained paramedics and feature advanced life-saving equipment, patient monitoring systems, and direct communication with Medanta’s specialists. These capabilities turn the vehicles into mobile emergency units, ensuring stabilization before patients reach the hospital.

Dr Rakesh Kapoor, Medical Director, Medanta Lucknow, said, “The 5G ambulance is a transformative advancement for Uttar Pradesh, reflecting Medanta’s dedication to merging technology with healthcare. Our aim is to revolutionise emergency medical response, ensuring that every second counts during critical moments.”
