Rajesh M Patel Becomes New CEO of AGD Biomedicals

Rajesh M Patel brings 34 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development within the healthcare sector.

Mumbai-based AGD Biomedicals has appointed Rajesh M Patel as its new CEO. The company develops and manufactures quality medical devices and diagnostics. 

It serves a global market with over 20,000 active installations of its AGD and ERMA JAPAN product lines.

Rajesh M Patel brings 34 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development within the healthcare sector. His extensive background spans pharmaceuticals, clinical research organizations, clinical trials, and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) medical devices. 

Prior to joining AGD Biomedicals, Patel served as executive director for IVD Business at Mylab Discovery Solutions, another significant player in the MedTech industry.

Career Experience

Patel's expertise covers P&L management, business operations, business development, and supply chain management. His previous roles in prominent organizations including Trivitron Healthcare, Pfizer Limited, Nicholas Piramal India Limited, Quest Diagnostics, Transasia Bio-Medicals Limited, Meril Diagnostics, and Agappe Diagnostics have equipped him with a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape. 

Exuding excitement, Patel said, "We need to be experts in understanding the customers' needs, and we must have localized strategies to overcome competition. Keeping myself always attached to the customers through direct relations with all KOLs and large institutions makes me known as a field lover in the industry."

Future Plans & Vision

Patel's appointment aligns with AGD Biomedicals’ strategy to expand its customer base to over 50,000 in the next two years. 

His leadership is expected to drive this growth, which aligns with the vision of Ashish Pradhan, the company's managing director. 

"This will probably be my last inning of a decade. I am confident in positioning AGD in line with  Ashish Pradhan's vision for continued growth and success in the region," the new CEO stated.

Major Appointments in Healthcare

In related news, Paras Health appointed U P Singh, a veteran of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), as an independent director on its Board. Singh brings 37 years of experience in governance, policy formulation, and strategic management. 

In another such development, Gland Pharma recently named Srinivas Sadu, the incumbent MD and CEO, as the executive chairman and CEO of the company, effective June 10, 2024. A seasoned professional with over two decades of extensive experience, Sadu played a pivotal role in Gland's journey. 

Also, Orchid Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical company based in Chennai, named Rajnish Rohatgi its new chief executive officer (CEO).

According to the company, he will be responsible for setting up a new division that promotes the rational use of anti-infectives.

Similarly, Mumbai's L H Hiranandani Hospital appointed Dr Sameer Kulkarni as its new CEO. Prior to this role, Dr Kulkarni served as deputy CEO for three months.

Dr Kulkarni succeeds Dr Sujit Chatterjee, who joined Sea View Healthcare Management Services as CEO.
