Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched a series of public health initiatives and infrastructure projects on Monday during a state-level event held at the Rajasthan Ayurvedic Research Institute on World Health Day.
According to an official release, the government rolled out key healthcare campaigns, including Niramay Rajasthan, Eat Right Rajasthan, Mission Madhuhari, Mission Liver Smile, and the Chief Minister Ayushman Adarsh Gram Panchayat Yojana. The launch also introduced the mobile app for the Ayushman Scheme, new Ayush packages, and an AI-integrated monitoring system.
Alongside these campaigns, the state government announced the establishment of 29 breastfeeding management units and hemodialysis wards in 50 medical institutions. An AI-based Learning Management System has also been introduced as part of the initiative to enhance healthcare service delivery.
As part of the same event, CM Sharma inaugurated medical infrastructure projects worth ₹26 crore. These included the National Emergency Life Support Skill Center at Jodhpur Medical College, the Center of Excellence for Medical Genetics at JK Lon Hospital, a new Girls’ Hostel at the Women’s Hospital at Sanghaneer Gate, and the establishment of a Reproductive Medicine and Surgery Department.
Additionally, Sharma flagged off 22 Ramrath ambulances and 10 vehicles under Ambulance 108 services. He also recognized the efforts of the state’s TB unit for their performance under the TB-Free Village Panchayat Campaign.
Speaking at the event, CM Sharma said, “Diseases do not come by themselves; we invite them. To fulfill the resolution of a healthy Rajasthan, every individual must change their lifestyle.” He also acknowledged recommendations made by Dr Shiv Kumar Sreen on liver health and said, “We will consider incorporating Dr. Sreen’s ideas into our primary education curriculum.”
Renowned hepatologist Dr Shiv Kumar Sreen highlighted the risks of liver neglect, noting that “Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and even cancer can be the result of neglecting the liver.”
Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar stressed the need for rural outreach and judicious medical use. “Over 26,000 health workers have been recruited, and appointments for vacant positions will be made soon,” he informed. He also cautioned against excessive mobile phone usage and indiscriminate medicine consumption.
Last year, Rajasthan’s free medicine scheme was ranked first for the third consecutive month in the Center’s evaluation of states based on efficiency in providing free medicines. The state scored 77.8% in that evaluation, securing the top position. Bihar and Telangana followed with 71.5% and 71.1%, respectively.
