Pul Alliance & CAHO Join Forces to Advance Digital Healthcare

The collaboration aims to enhance local capacity and capability through workforce and education, data and analytics, program development, and digital health.

In a significant move aimed at bolstering digital healthcare initiatives, Pul Alliance for Digital Health and Equity (DHE) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO).

Under this strategic partnership, CAHO, a non-profit organization striving to enhance healthcare quality and safety in India, has formally become a strategic partner of Pul Alliance DHE.

This move aligns with their efforts to improve access to quality health and care for vulnerable communities, the statement by Pul Alliance said.

The collaboration aims to enhance local capacity and capability in embracing digital transformation, furthering CAHO's mission of enhancing patient safety within the Indian healthcare landscape and beyond.

Key Focus Areas

The collaboration between Pul Alliance DHE, a global non-profit dedicated to enhancing healthcare accessibility, and CAHO will concentrate on developing joint projects and mobilizing strategic funding to fortify digitally enabled, outcomes-driven transformation.

Key areas of focus include workforce and education, data and analytics, program development, and digital health.

The partnership forged in India will also give impetus to creating value-driven innovations in care delivery models and patient safety that can be replicated in other geographies similar to India and are cost-conscious.

Dr Manish Kohli, MD, MPH, MBA, FHIMSS, FAAFP, founder and president of Pul Alliance DHE, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the significance of fostering digital transformation for enhanced patient safety.

“Our model at Pul Alliance DHE is to bring a global ecosystem together, partnering with and empowering in-country organizations and leaders through capacity and capability building. We are therefore delighted to join hands with CAHO as strategic partners in advance digital transformation to foster greater patient safety across the Indian healthcare ecosystem,” Kohli said.

Dr Vijay Agarwal, president of CAHO, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the potential of technology and innovation to augment the capacity and capability of the digital health workforce.

“We are excited to partner with Pul Alliance DHE in advancing digital transformation initiatives. The adoption of technology, innovation, and digitalization will enhance the capacity and capability of our digital health workforce to enable safe, affordable, and accessible care,” Dr Agarwal said.

CAHO’s Recent Initiatives

Established in 2013 to improve the quality and safety of healthcare in India, the idea for CAHO was originally conceived in 2011 by NABH and was proposed in 2012 to provide a platform for all NABH institutions.

Through its training, workshops, courses, and events CAHO aims to achieve quality and patient safety initiatives in partner hospitals.

On April 8, 2024, CAHO announced its foray into international healthcare realms. Its International Advisory Committee, consisting of experts from 13 countries provided an upstart for CAHO to venture into international borders.

Recently, the consortium designated two hospitals, Mumbai’s PD Hinduja Hospital and Research Centre as well as Bethany Hospital, Shillong as Centres for Quality Promotion.

Last year, CAHO also launched a ‘Healthcare Directory,’ an online platform connecting healthcare startups and practitioners at its flagship CAHOTECH summit.
