Bajaj, who brings over 17 years of healthcare leadership experience, will oversee operations and strategic initiatives to enhance ambulatory care services.
Providence Clinical Network (PCN) has named Sam Bajaj, JD, MHA, as its new chief operating officer (COO), effective March 31, 2025.
Bajaj, who brings over 17 years of healthcare leadership experience, will oversee operations and strategic initiatives to enhance ambulatory care services.
Bajaj previously served as COO of Optum California, where he managed a $7 billion P&L and was responsible for financial performance, access, care quality, and patient experience.
His tenure at Optum included integrating operations across six legacy care delivery organizations. He has also held leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, overseeing hospital and health plan operations in San Jose.
Providence Clinical Network's chief executive, Susan Huang, highlighted Bajaj’s experience and leadership in healthcare operations. "Sam’s appointment is a significant milestone for PCN. As COO, Bajaj will focus on optimizing operations, improving patient experience, advancing population health, increasing affordability, and supporting clinicians and caregivers. He aims to align teams and drive strategic initiatives to enhance overall performance.

Bajaj holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Rush University, a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois. He has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School.
