Goswami, currently serving as CIDO at the University of Wisconsin Health System, will oversee Providence’s information services (IS) strategy, cybersecurity, and AI deployment.
Providence, a leading US healthcare system operating across seven western states, has appointed Cherodeep (Chero) Goswami as its new Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO), effective May 12.
Goswami, currently serving as CIDO at the University of Wisconsin Health System (UW Health), will oversee Providence’s information services (IS) strategy, cybersecurity, and AI deployment.
Goswami will be responsible for advancing key digital health strategies within Providence, including reducing administrative burdens on physicians and clinicians, strengthening operational efficiency, and implementing technology solutions that extend healthcare access, particularly for vulnerable populations.

Providence emphasized the critical role of digital advancements in its broader healthcare strategy. “The chief information and digital officer role is critical for helping Providence support our transformation efforts, drive technological advancements and investments, safeguard sensitive health information, and ultimately improve patient outcomes,” Wexler added.
Expressing his commitment to Providence’s mission-driven healthcare model, Goswami highlighted the role of technology in improving patient care.

Prior to UW Health, Goswami held leadership roles at BJC Healthcare in St. Louis, where he was Vice President for Business Relationship Management. His career spans multiple industries, including finance, telecom, and transportation. He holds dual master’s degrees from Webster University and is an alumnus of Columbia University, New York.
