PM Modi to Inaugurate 5 AIIMS Hospitals

Other AIIMS institutes including Rajkot, Bathinda, Kalyani, Mangalagiri and Rae Bareli will be inaugurated at a program in Rajkot, Gujarat, on February 25.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate five All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the next week. This series of inaugurations has already begun with the launch of AIIMS in Samba. Jammu on 20th February.

Other AIIMS institutes including Rajkot, Bathinda, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, and Rae Bareli will be inaugurated at a program in Rajkot, Gujarat, on February 25.

Recently, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of AIIMS in Haryana’s Rewari. These initiatives are being established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

Other Initiatives

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya disclosed that the total expenditure incurred by the center for these seven hospitals surpasses INR 10,000 Cr. He said, "Till 2014, the nation had six AIIMS in seven decades, and in the next 10 days, the country will get seven AIIMS."

Further, the PM will also inaugurate various medical colleges and nursing colleges across the country. Reportedly, he will lay the foundation of many new medical colleges and various advanced health facilities, including critical care blocks and integrated public health labs, under the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.

At the inaugural event of AIIMS Samba, Jammu, PM said, "In a step that will provide comprehensive, quality, and holistic tertiary care health services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister will inaugurate All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu.".

He further noted that the Union Government added 15 new AIIMS in the last 10 years, including two in J&K alone.

“After the commissioning of AIIMS Jammu, people of Jammu will no longer have to leave for Delhi to avail specialized medical treatment, which will help them save valuable time and resources,” the PM added.

Moreover, he will also be dedicated to the nation's advanced research labs and facilities of ICMR and various National Health Mission (NHM) projects.

To ensure the safety and quality of food consumed by millions of Indians, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate advanced food safety infrastructure projects and facilities in multiple states.

All these health projects with a total cost of INR 11,391.79 Cr is expected to bring a wave of healthcare advancements and transform India's healthcare landscape. Further, the projects will ensure quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare for all along with expanding medical education in the country.

AIIMS’s Recent Series of Developments

Recently, AIIMS New Delhi introduced the AIIMS-SBI Smart Payment Card to simplify payment procedures for patients. Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, launched this card to alleviate the burden of carrying cash for treatment, particularly for patients from remote areas.

Additionally, AIIMS Delhi partnered with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) Pune to unveil iOncology.ai, an AI-based platform for cancer diagnosis. This platform claims early cancer detection, a critical step in improving patient outcomes.

In another similar development, Dr Mandaviya recently laid the foundation stone for 68 health services at AIIMS Jodhpur and inaugurated 24 health facilities across multiple AIIMS locations.
