Philips has successfully transitioned over 150 sites in North and Latin America to its HealthSuite Imaging on the AWS platform and plans to expand to European markets.
Philips has announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to enhance healthcare innovation through scalable, cloud-enabled solutions.
This partnership integrates Philips’ diagnostics portfolio into AWS's cloud infrastructure, including radiology, digital pathology, cardiology, and AI-powered visualization.
The collaboration is designed to unify diagnostic workflows, offering healthcare providers access to critical imaging insights. The goal is to improve clinical outcomes across specialties by providing secure and accessible solutions globally.
Building on earlier collaborations, Philips and AWS plan to develop robust generative AI applications.
These efforts utilize Amazon Bedrock’s foundation models, which are expected to streamline clinical workflows by reducing administrative tasks and repetitive processes.
Philips aims to integrate these AI-driven tools seamlessly into healthcare systems, enabling more efficient and effective care delivery.
“The collaboration between Philips and AWS provides scalable, secure cloud solutions to accelerate healthcare innovation,” said Matt Garman, CEO of AWS.
“Combining Philips’ healthcare informatics portfolio with AWS generative AI capabilities ensures clinicians have access to imaging insights anytime, anywhere, with robust security and privacy.”
Philips has successfully transitioned over 150 sites in North and Latin America to its HealthSuite Imaging on the AWS platform and plans to expand to European markets.
This migration supports health systems’ shift to cloud-based infrastructures, offering improved scalability and innovation potential.
Roy Jakobs, CEO of Royal Philips, emphasized the partnership’s impact on healthcare providers. “Philips’ cloud-based informatics solutions improve radiology, digital pathology, and cardiology outcomes.
Collaborating with AWS accelerates innovation and helps clinicians focus more on patient care,” he said.
In March this year, Royal Philips joined forces with AWS to advance digital pathology solutions through cloud technology. This partnership combines Philips' expertise in pathology digitization with AWS' robust, scalable cloud infrastructure to streamline clinical workflows and enhance efficiency in pathology labs.
By leveraging cloud-based solutions, the collaboration aims to improve workflow integration, accessibility, and reliability, fostering greater productivity and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
The initiative focuses on enabling pathology labs to store, manage, and analyze digital pathology data efficiently. These capabilities ensure seamless integration with existing healthcare systems, supporting comprehensive patient care.
