P D Hinduja Hospital Partners with London-based Institutions to Advance Healthcare Education & Research

The Hinduja Foundation UK will make a significant philanthropic contribution to pave the way for health engineering research and clinical innovation.


Mumbai based P D Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, has entered into a strategic partnership with esteemed institutions from London: King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and the Hinduja Foundation UK to advance healthcare outcomes through education and research.

This collaboration, which comes under the purview of the National Health & Education Society, seeks to bolster training, education, and research capacity building in the healthcare sector.

The memorandum of agreement was signed between King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’, and the National Health & Education Society in London.

G P Hinduja, chairman, Hinduja Group and Foundation, expressed delight in the groundbreaking agreement, envisioning positive healthcare and research outcomes for both India and the UK.

“We see this as part of a long-term partnership to bring real positive healthcare and research outcomes to benefit India and the UK,” he said.

Establishment of Hinduja-King’s Health Partners Academy

The partnership will facilitate the delivery of clinical and non-clinical short courses, research capacity building, and executive education to health professionals in both India and the UK. By sharing the best clinical practices, this partnership aims to enhance healthcare provision on a global scale.

Additionally, the Hinduja Foundation UK will make a significant philanthropic contribution to pave the way for health engineering research and clinical innovation.

This initiative will support PhD and Masters scholarships for students from India in biomedical engineering and imaging sciences, fostering the development of cutting-edge technologies in healthcare.

Together, these joint endeavors will give rise to the Hinduja-King’s Health Partners Academy, which will serve as a hub for education and research collaboration between the involved institutions.

This academy will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and addressing healthcare challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.

The partnership honors the late P Hinduja and is a testament to his legacy and commitment to advancing healthcare globally, the foundation said.

UK’s Deputy PM Oliver Dowden welcomed the partnership, underscoring its role in strengthening UK-India ties and fostering research capacity in healthcare engineering and clinical innovation.

Stakeholders Highlight Importance of Collaboration

With the immense skills of each of the partners, I am sure this collaboration will lead to groundbreaking outcomes to help address healthcare challenges faced by India and the UK.”

PD Hinduja Hospital CEO Gautam Khanna emphasized the hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare for all through clinical excellence, research, and academics.

“Through this association, we endeavor to leverage clinical research, biomedical and digital technology to develop impactful solutions that cater to current and future healthcare needs of the two countries,” Khanna added.
