This collaboration aims to empower individuals in fighting heart diseases by offering advanced portable ECG and atrial fibrillation (Afib) monitoring devices for home use.

OMRON Healthcare India, a leading provider of medical equipment for home health monitoring, has joined hands with AliveCor India, a prominent player in personal electrocardiogram (ECG) technology.

This collaboration aims to empower individuals in fighting heart diseases by offering advanced portable ECG and atrial fibrillation (Afib) monitoring devices for home use.

Sharing thoughts, Tetsuya Yamada, MD, OMRON Healthcare India, said, "Stroke risk is 3.4 times higher with hypertension, but it is 5 times higher with Afib. This signifies the importance of monitoring both ECG and blood pressure at home."

He further noted the critical role of early detection and management in preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health conditions like stroke.

By integrating AI-based handheld ECG technology into its portfolio, OMRON expands its focus beyond blood pressure monitoring, reinforcing its commitment to cardiovascular health management.

OMRON’s Home Monitoring  Device

OMRON Healthcare India introduced the OMRON COMPLETE – a home monitoring device that combines blood pressure monitoring with ECG capabilities.

This FDA-cleared device facilitates early detection and management of CardioVascular Diseases (CVDs), offering accurate and reliable readings in a user-friendly design for both individuals and professionals.

Sharing insights, Anuj Seth, MD of AliveCor India, said, "Partnering with OMRON Healthcare India allows us to reach more patients and save more lives.”

Closing the Gap in Heart Disease Awareness

India faces a significant gap in heart disease awareness and treatment, with a large percentage of the population remaining undiagnosed or untreated. With over 220 million people suffering from high blood pressure, but only a fraction receiving treatment.

The collaboration between OMRON Healthcare India and AliveCor India seeks to bridge this gap by offering accessible and innovative monitoring solutions.

"By providing new technologies that enhance accuracy, quality, and accessibility of home monitoring, we aim to empower individuals to manage their conditions effectively," OMRON MD Yamada stated.

He also emphasized the role of collaborations like this in addressing underlying social issues such as the limited number of cardiologists in the country.

Expanding Access to Advanced Heart Monitoring

The product lineup includes KardiaMobile and KardiaMobile 6L, both FDA-cleared personal ECG monitoring devices that offer medical-grade electrocardiograms on smartphones. These devices, clinically validated and AI-enabled, aid in the early detection of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, significantly reducing the risk of stroke.

With the ability to record, save, and share reports easily with healthcare providers, these devices empower individuals to take proactive steps towards better heart health management.

KardiaMobile 6L, in particular, provides a more detailed view of the heart with six times the heart data capture compared to single-lead ECG devices, enhancing diagnostic capabilities for both patients and professionals.

OMRON Healthcare India, established in 2010, has emerged as a key player in the health monitoring segment, providing a wide range of high-quality medical devices. In addition to advancing health and empowering individuals worldwide, OMRON Healthcare focuses on preventive care and innovative solutions for cardiovascular condition management.

On the other hand, AliveCor India, dedicated to revolutionizing cardiac care through mobile technology, offers FDA-cleared personal ECG monitoring devices for early detection and management of heart diseases.

By leveraging advanced technology and partnerships, AliveCor India aims to expand access to remote patient care and improve outcomes for individuals with heart conditions.
