The Calicut facility is designed to screen up to 50 individuals daily, focusing on cancer and metabolic syndrome detection.
NURA, a collaborative venture between Fujifilm Healthcare and Dr Kutty’s Healthcare, has opened its first AI-powered health screening facility in Kerala.
The Calicut facility is designed to screen up to 50 individuals daily, focusing on cancer and metabolic syndrome detection. Located in Calicut, the center aims to enhance early disease detection capabilities.
According to NURA representatives, the center’s advanced diagnostic technology facilitates the early identification of diseases, providing accurate and timely results. Plans are underway to include screening and treatment options for locomotive syndrome to address aging-related health concerns.
Highlighting the need for advanced healthcare solutions, CM Vijayan said, “We welcome NURA’s entry into Kerala as the state has a dearth of advanced yet affordable screening facilities. The demand for such services is increasing exponentially in the state as state-funded health agencies are deficient in serving many patients. So, we welcome NURA’s presence in the state and, hopefully, the company will expand to other parts of the state, too, to offer high-quality screening test services that people desperately seek at present.”
NURA has outlined ambitious growth plans, targeting new centers in cities such as Chennai, Pune, and Ahmedabad in 2025 and establishing 100 centers globally by 2030. The organization aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible.
Dr Mohamed Kasim, Executive Director of NURA, said, “NURA’s presence in Kerala will help the state catapult its healthcare facilities into the global arena. We are confident that our center will set new diagnostic service standards. Our expansion into Chennai, Pune, Gujarat, Jaipur, and other major cities highlights our commitment to make preventive healthcare accessible to the people across the country.”
The inauguration was officiated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, alongside Teiichi Goto, President of Fujifilm, and state officials V Abdurahiman and Ayisha Kutti.
