NATHEALTH & NABH Sign MoU to Enhance Patient Safety, Quality Healthcare Nationwide

In addition to collaborating with NABH, NATHEALTH has launched a public education campaign called "Choose Safer Healthcare." The campaign aims to create awareness and improve knowledge among consumers about safety and precautions to take while availing healthcare services.'¯

In a recent move to prioritise patient safety and improve healthcare quality, NATHEALTH, the Healthcare Federation of India, and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) have joined forces by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).'¯

This strategic partnership aims to reinforce patient safety, enhance the quality of healthcare services, and drive positive changes in the healthcare ecosystem across the nation.'¯

Under this partnership, NATHEALTH and NABH will collaborate on various initiatives, including:

Enhance Patient Safety and Quality Healthcare Practices

NATHEALTH and NABH will work together to develop and implement initiatives that promote patient safety and enhance the quality of healthcare practices. The partnership seeks to catalyse positive change within the healthcare ecosystem by sharing industry insights and rigorous accreditation processes.

White Paper and Awareness Modules on Patient Safety

One of the key objectives of the collaboration is to jointly develop a white paper and awareness module on patient safety. These resources will outline best practices for consumer safety measures and will be disseminated through expert sessions to healthcare caregivers and the broader health system. This knowledge-sharing initiative will contribute to raising awareness and improving patient safety nationwide.

Curating Case Studies and Expert Testimonials

To raise awareness around patient safety in healthcare, NATHEALTH and NABH will collaborate to curate case studies, expert testimonials, and scientific materials. These resources will serve as valuable tools to educate healthcare professionals and the general public about the importance of patient safety.

Advocacy for Patient-Centric Care Policies

The partnership also aims to advocate for policies and measures that support and enhance patient-centric care. By actively engaging with policymakers, NATHEALTH and NABH will strive to create an environment that prioritises patient safety and quality healthcare.

Annual Patient Experience Award

Institutionalising an annual patient experience award is another important aspect of the collaboration between NATHEALTH and NABH. This recognition will highlight and celebrate the best practices in patient safety across public and private sectors, inspiring healthcare providers to improve their services continuously.

Jaxay Shah, chairperson of the Quality Council of India, said, "The convergence of NATHEALTH's industry insights and NABH's rigorous accreditation processes will undoubtedly catalyse positive change within our healthcare ecosystem. Together, we will inspire healthcare providers to continuously improve their services, prioritise patient safety, and embrace innovation in healthcare practices."

Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, president of NATHEALTH, said the joint initiatives with NABH aim to bolster patient safety, raise the standard of healthcare, and empower patients to make well-informed decisions.
