The service will initially target patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic asthma, acute respiratory distress syndrome, interstitial lung disease, and pneumonia.
Mohali-based Zorgers has partnered with Clinitouch, a leading UK-based remote patient monitoring platform, to offer chronic cardio-pulmonary treatments at home.
This partnership aims to fill a critical gap in healthcare delivery by providing access to digital rehabilitation programs and remote patient monitoring.
Clinitouch, backed by over a decade of proven success in the UK's NHS, offers a digital rehabilitation program accessible through a mobile app. Patients can track their progress and symptoms through questionnaires from their own homes.
Zorgers, an established healthcare service provider operating in nine regions across India, recognized the high prevalence of pulmonary illnesses and the low referral rates to supporting programs in the country.
The dedicated team of clinical experts at Zorgers will monitor patients' responses and progress, creating alerts for those experiencing difficulties with exercises or those not adhering to the program.
This proactive approach ensures timely support for patients, maintains their recovery, and enables clinicians to track progression and outcomes using data from the Clinitouch app.
Commenting on the partnership, Varun Gupta, director at Zorgers, said, "While cardio-pulmonary rehab is well-established in the Western world, it is still in its early stages in India. We've supported thousands of patients with cardio-pulmonary diseases such as COPD, chronic asthma, and ILD, and have clearly seen the need for better clinical connectivity. With Clinitouch and their extensive experience in supporting the NHS, we are excited to use this technology to improve patient care in India."
The service will initially target patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic asthma, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), interstitial lung disease (ILD), and pneumonia.
Clinitouch has collaborated closely with Zorgers to co-design questionnaires and exercise programs tailored to local communities across India, ensuring ease of use.
Grant Ricker, head, International Partnerships at Clinitouch, said that partnering with Varun and the Zorgers team demonstrates the value of local partners who understand their market.
He added that they can work with and support them to tailor unique offerings that improve outcomes within India.
Ashwin Ravindran, head – Healthcare and Life Sciences, India, at the Department for Business and Trade, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, saying, "This partnership showcases how UK's innovation in digital health technologies can be utilized in saving lives at scale through collaborations with innovative and forward-thinking Indian healthcare providers. It is a great example of UK-India collaboration aimed at creating a positive social impact in India."
Clinitouch technology is expanding into multiple new territories worldwide via a global partnership program backed by the UK's Department for Business and Trade.
Remote patient monitoring projects powered by Clinitouch are being designed across 13 countries and five continents for chronic health conditions, including COPD, diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure.
Companies interested in introducing this technology to their respective countries are encouraged to apply for the program.
