MicroPort Orthopedics Inc., a U.S.-based global medical device company, has announced the launch of its second-generation total knee replacement solution, the Evolution Medial-Pivot Knee, in India.
Designed to mimic the natural motion and stability of the human knee, the implant aims to offer improved flexion stability, reduced wear, and enhanced patient satisfaction post-surgery.
The Evolution Medial-Pivot Knee has been used in over 1 million cases in 70 countries, and its long-term success is documented.
According to MicroPort, the implant demonstrates a 98.8% survivorship rate over 17 years and a 95% patient satisfaction rate.
Its unique design addresses common patient concerns, such as instability during stair navigation and a lack of natural movement post-surgery.
To support the rollout in India, MicroPort has conducted training sessions with Indian surgeons across multiple cities.
These sessions included hands-on education and live surgical assistance by international experts. The initiative aims to ensure optimal adoption and outcomes for Indian patients.
As part of its broader education strategy, MicroPort also promotes its Joint Academy, a global platform that offers online and on-site training.
The academy connects healthcare professionals with key international opinion leaders, focusing on the latest surgical techniques and evidence-based insights in joint replacement.
The company’s entry into the Indian market with this advanced solution is expected to enhance access to globally recognized orthopedic care.
