The collaboration between Medtronic and Swizton Medcare seeks to enhance the accessibility of advanced vein treatments in India.

Medtronic India and Swizton Medcare inaugurated their first specialized vein clinic at Aveksha Hospital in Singapura, Bengaluru.

The new clinic is set to address the growing need for effective varicose vein treatment.

The collaboration between Medtronic, a subsidiary of Medtronic plc, and Swizton Medcare, part of 98 Farenheit, seeks to enhance the accessibility of advanced vein treatments in India.

Medtronic will contribute its treatment solutions, including adhesive treatment and radiofrequency ablation (RFA), while Swizton Medcare will offer comprehensive care through sclerotherapy and other therapies.

Commenting on the development, Mandeep Singh, MD & VP of Medtronic India, said,“Our partnership with Swizton Medcare reflects our commitment to improving patient outcomes through advanced treatment options. We aim to provide healthcare professionals and patients with the necessary tools and knowledge for effective varicose vein management.”

Addressing Varicose Veins

Varicose veins affect approximately 20% of adults globally. If left untreated, they can cause discomfort and more serious health issues. The new clinic aims to address this by providing effective treatment options and raising awareness about the condition and available therapies.

Additionally, the clinic is equipped to deliver a range of varicose vein treatments. Medtronic’s technologies, including adhesive treatment and RFA, will be complemented by Swizton Medcare’s sclerotherapy services.

This combination is expected to provide comprehensive patient care at a cost-effective rate.

Furthermore, the clinic will focus on enhancing patient care and expanding awareness of varicose vein treatments.

This initiative aims to democratize healthcare by making advanced treatments more widely available, particularly in regions with limited access to specialized services.

Dr Tahsin Neduvanchery and Dr Rahul Deep, renowned experts in varicose vein treatments from Swizton Medcare, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in increasing public awareness and accessibility to vein treatments.

“By leveraging our expertise in healthcare services, we are dedicated to offering holistic care and educating the public about the various treatment modalities available for varicose veins,” said both the experts in a joint statement.

Medtronic’s Recent Investments

In addition to the vein clinic, Medtronic recently made significant investments in India. The company has allocated $60 million to establish a new Global IT Center (GIT) in Hyderabad, expanding its Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Centre (MEIC).

This new facility, which marks Medtronic's first major IT setup outside the US, is anticipated to create approximately 300 jobs over the next three to five years.

Additionally, Medtronic India recently launched the NeuroSmart Portable Micro Electrode Recording (MER) Navigation system. This new system aims to improve the precision of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) treatments for Parkinson’s disease, potentially offering new treatment options for patients suffering from this debilitating condition.
