Mayo Clinic has announced a collaboration with Abridge, an AI-powered clinical documentation platform, to improve clinician well-being and enhance the delivery of patient-centered care.
Dr Amy Williams, Executive Dean of Practice at Mayo Clinic, emphasized that the partnership aims to foster innovation and enable clinicians to prioritize their patients.
Mayo Clinic conducted a rigorous evaluation of Abridge’s platform to ensure the generated clinical notes meet the organization’s stringent quality standards.
This validation process highlights Abridge's ability to provide accurate and reliable documentation, aligning with Mayo Clinic’s commitment to excellence in patient care.
Abridge is increasingly being adopted by leading healthcare systems nationwide. Notable institutions such as Johns Hopkins Medicine, Emory Healthcare, Yale New Haven Health System, UPMC, and The University of Kansas Health System have implemented the platform.
Other adopters include CHRISTUS Health, Sutter Health, Corewell Health, and the University of Vermont Health Network.
Additionally, Abridge collaborates with organizations like Wolters Kluwer and OpenNotes to expand its ecosystem.
In early 2024, Abridge secured $150 million in Series C funding, including a strategic investment from NVIDIA.
This funding will support the development and integration of advanced AI technologies, reinforcing Abridge’s position as a leader in clinical documentation innovation.
By automating clinical documentation, the Mayo Clinic-Abridge partnership demonstrates the potential of AI to reduce administrative burdens, improve clinician satisfaction, and maintain a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care.
