The investment will be utilized over the next two years to improve Maharashtra’s healthcare system, establish a state-run ambulance service, and address long-standing projects such as the housing initiative for police personnel in Lohgaon, Pune.
The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with investment firm Rural Enhancers for an investment of INR 10,000 crore.
The agreement was formalized at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Summit in Davos, Switzerland, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The MoU was signed by P Anbalagan, Principal Secretary of the Department of Industries, and representatives from Rural Enhancers.
This deal is expected to enhance Maharashtra’s healthcare services, hospital infrastructure, ports, and other social sectors.
Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, congratulated Ambar Ayade and his team, calling the investment a significant achievement for Maharashtra and Pune-based startups.
In addition to the MoU, Kaustubh Dhavse, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Investments, facilitated a tripartite agreement with government agencies from the Netherlands.
Key officials present at the event included Principal Secretary of Industries Department P. Anbalagan, Secretary of MIDC P Velrasu, Netherlands representative Edwin CS Varda, Chairman of Rural Enhancers Group Subrahmanyam Yedavalli, and Chief Minister’s Assistant Jayant Yerwadekar.
Ambar Ayade, a key figure in Maharashtra’s foreign investment initiatives, was specially invited to participate in the WEF Summit.
Ambar Ayade highlighted that the investment will be utilized over the next two years to improve Maharashtra’s healthcare system, establish a state-run ambulance service, and address long-standing projects such as the housing initiative for police personnel in Lohgaon, Pune.
Additionally, the funds will strengthen the state’s port and shipping infrastructure.
Ayade also emphasized the organization’s past contributions, noting that in 2023, Rural Enhancers facilitated India’s first Export Credit Agency (ECA)-based investment for a multispecialty hospital in Warje, Pune, in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation.
The hospital is expected to be operational by 2027. Furthermore, Maharashtra will host the first-ever ECA-based economic summit in India this March in Mumbai, with Chief Minister Fadnavis in attendance.
Kaustubh Dhavse stated that Ayade has been a key figure in the Chief Minister’s ‘Country Desk’ initiative, which focuses on attracting foreign investments to Maharashtra.
Since 2021, he has been instrumental in securing ECA-based funding for various projects. The INR 10,000 crore investment finalized at Davos is expected to significantly benefit the state’s healthcare and infrastructure sectors.
Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized that the agreement with Rural Enhancers and the Netherlands will play a crucial role in strengthening Maharashtra’s hospitals, healthcare services, and social development initiatives.
