The collaboration aims to make healthcare job vacancies more accessible to job seekers, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cygnus Ujala Group to expand employment opportunities within India’s healthcare sector through the National Career Service (NCS) portal.
This partnership, the third of its kind, follows similar agreements with Amazon and TMI Group. The collaboration aims to make healthcare job vacancies more accessible to job seekers, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities.
Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed that the ministry is planning 11 additional partnerships in the coming months.
Collectively, these agreements are expected to bring around 2.5 million job vacancies to the NCS portal, thereby broadening access to diverse employment opportunities for India's youth.
"The National Career Service portal is increasingly becoming a vital platform for young job seekers, with access to employment services across various sectors," Mandaviya stated.
He emphasized that the partnership with Cygnus Ujala would specifically enhance opportunities within the healthcare field, allowing youth to build promising careers.
Under the new agreement, Cygnus Ujala Group and its affiliated staffing agencies will post regular job openings on the NCS portal and will conduct their hiring activities through it.
In addition to the online job listings, Cygnus Ujala will also participate in job fairs at Model Career Centers (MCCs), offering job seekers the chance to interact directly with the recruitment teams.
This initiative is particularly aimed at promoting employment for women, ensuring equal access to healthcare jobs across all regions.
As part of its efforts to support a user-friendly job-seeking experience, the Ministry of Labour and Employment is upgrading the NCS portal to integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
This enhancement is expected to improve navigation and accessibility for job seekers, employers, and stakeholders alike.
The upgraded portal will further streamline the hiring process, making it easier for both companies and candidates to connect effectively.
Since its launch, the NCS portal has registered over 3.5 million employers and has a current user base of more than 11 million active job seekers. As of October 31, 2024, the platform has generated over 34.6 million job vacancies, with 10.9 million listed in the fiscal year 2023-24 alone.
This financial year, the total number of vacancies posted on NCS has already surpassed 10 million, underscoring its significance as a robust employment platform.
The partnership with Cygnus Ujala aligns with the government’s vision to create a more inclusive and accessible job market.
"These collaborations are paving the way for a strong employment landscape in India," Mandaviya stated, adding that the ministry’s proactive approach would continue to address the job needs of India’s youth across various sectors.
The MoU with Cygnus Ujala is set for an initial period of two years, marking a continued commitment to enhancing employment accessibility in the healthcare industry.
