Dr Kulkarni shared his long-term vision of establishing four additional hospitals over the next two to three years, aiming to expand the hospital's reach and impact.

Mumbai's L H Hiranandani Hospital has appointed Dr Sameer Kulkarni as its new CEO, marking the hospital's 20th anniversary.

Dr Kulkarni succeeds Dr Sujit Chatterjee, who announced his next plans to return to project management and take over as CEO of Sea View Healthcare Management Services. Prior to this role, Dr Kulkarni served as deputy CEO for three months.

Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, founder and MD of the Hiranandani Group, welcomed Dr Kulkarni's appointment with optimism.

"After two decades of remarkable progress, our hospital stands as a pillar of excellence in Mumbai's healthcare landscape. We warmly welcome Dr Sameer Kulkarni, whose leadership we believe will further elevate our position and help us realize our vision of becoming a leading player in the healthcare sector," he stated.

Before joining L H Hiranandani Hospital, Dr Kulkarni was the regional director for Paras Healthcare in Gurugram, where he managed five hospitals, including the flagship facility, with a combined capacity of over 1,400 beds. His extensive experience in healthcare management positions him well to lead the hospital into its next phase of growth.

Dr Kulkarni expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, saying, "I am excited and deeply honored to join L H Hiranandani Hospital on its journey towards continued growth and innovation in healthcare. This presents a remarkable opportunity for me to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the hospital and the broader Indian healthcare landscape."

In terms of future plans, Dr Kulkarni has immediate goals to optimize operational efficiency by adding another floor to the hospital. He also shared his long-term vision of establishing four additional hospitals over the next two to three years, aiming to expand the hospital's reach and impact.

Dr Kulkarni's academic credentials include an MBBS degree in Medicine & Surgery from BJ Medical College, Pune, and an MBA in Finance & Strategy from Case Western Reserve University in the United States, from where he graduated in 2009.

With over 18 years of experience in the healthcare sector, his professional journey includes key leadership roles such as regional director at Paras Healthcare, facility director at Fortis Healthcare in Mumbai, and marketing head at Apollo Hospitals in Bhilai, among others.

His diverse background and leadership experience in various capacities are expected to drive L H Hiranandani Hospital's growth and further enhance its reputation as a premier healthcare institution in India.

The real estate tycoon Hiranandani Group diversified into the healthcare segment with Hiranandani Hospital in 2002. In addition to its facility in Powai's Hiranandani complex, it also built hospitals in Navi Mumbai and Thane.

However, last year, it sold its newly constructed hospital property in Thane to Telangana-based hospital chain Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) for INR 275 Cr.

The 3 Lakh sq ft hospital in Thane's Hiranandani Estate has been ready with an occupation certificate for over a year. It is almost as big as the developer's 250-bed hospital in Powai's Hiranandani complex.
