Kolkata’s Techno India DAMA Hospital, a leading 320-bed super specialty tertiary care institution, has launched advanced robotic technology for orthopedic care. This marks a significant milestone in the region’s medical landscape.
The announcement was made by Prof Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, alongside Meghdut Roychowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director, Dr Sourav Ghosh, Medical Director of Techno India DAMA Hospital, and renowned orthopedic surgeons Dr Rajeev Raman and Dr Goutam Gupta. Officials from Joints & Velys were also in attendance.
In partnership with VELYS Digital Surgery, Techno India DAMA Hospital has become a pioneer in Eastern India by introducing this AI and robotics-powered technology. The system is designed to enhance the precision of orthopedic surgeries, minimize complications, and improve patient recovery times and overall outcomes.

This innovative technology aims to enhance surgical precision and efficiency, significantly improving patient outcomes.
The SSI Mantra 3 Robotic System, designed and manufactured in India, features five lean robotic arms, an immersive 3D HD headset for surgeons, and a vision cart equipped with 3D 4K imaging for the entire surgical team. These features collectively enable surgeons to perform procedures with heightened accuracy and control.
