KIMS to Establish 20 Corporate Hospitals Across Odisha

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is set to establish 20 corporate-style hospitals across 20 districts in Odisha within a year. The announcement was made on Saturday by Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, during the first national health conclave organized by KIMS.

Each hospital will feature 100 beds and advanced medical infrastructure. “The hospitals are set to be inaugurated by this time next year,” Samanta stated.

The health conclave hosted several prominent medical practitioners and experts from India and abroad to discuss pivotal issues shaping the future of healthcare and medicine in the country.

At the event, Prof D Nageswar Reddy of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, commended KISS for its contributions to tribal welfare and called the conclave a comprehensive platform to address diverse issues, including spirituality.

Highlighting the impact of KIMS initiatives, Prof V Mohan of Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai, emphasized their transformative influence on healthcare.

Further, Dr Subrat Acharya, KIIT Pro-Chancellor and a noted gastroenterologist, underscored KIMS' achievement of ranking 15th in the NIRF rankings, reflecting its excellence in medical education and healthcare delivery.

KIMS Principal Dr RC Das shared insights on India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem.

Other notable speakers included Prof Vinod Paul of NITI Aayog, Prof Ved Prakash Mishra of Krishna Viswa Vidyapith, and Dr CBK Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the School of Medicine.
