Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, has called for the comprehensive digitization of health services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

At a meeting with officials from the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Dulloo directed to create secure, paperless health records for efficient healthcare delivery.

He further advised the department to digitize health records and focus on developing Electronic Health Records (EHR) to preserve patient histories and facilitate accurate diagnoses.

Highlighting the role of ABDM in transforming healthcare services, Dulloo also urged bulk SMS campaigns to raise awareness about Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs.

The meeting, attended by senior officials including the Secretary of H&ME, MD NHM, and principals of medical colleges, reviewed the progress of ABDM initiatives, including the creation of ABHA IDs, health professional registries (HPR), and health facility registries (HFR).

Progress Under ABDM

ABHA IDs: Nearly 90.9 lakh IDs have been generated for a targeted population of 1.36 crore.

Health Facility Registry (HFR): Includes all public health facilities and empanelled private institutions.

Health Professionals Registry (HPR): Records of 6,448 doctors and 4,488 nurses are registered.

Digital OPD Integration: 105 health facilities now support QR code-based registrations, generating nearly 54 lakh tokens for OPD services.

Dulloo also stressed the periodic updating of health institution and professional registries, expanding QR code-based registrations to additional hospitals, and advancing towards universal EHR implementation.
