The Karnataka government has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the New Jersey Department of State, USA, to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, biotech, deep technology, life sciences, and startup innovation.
The agreement sets the stage for collaboration between Bengaluru and New Brunswick to drive advancements in these critical sectors.

It also includes initiatives to develop synergies between the startup ecosystems of Karnataka and New Jersey, leveraging their strengths in technology and healthcare.
“This partnership with New Jersey is a significant milestone in Karnataka’s mission to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation. We are excited about the opportunities this collaboration presents, particularly in technology, startups, and key sectors like AI and electronics," said Ekroop Caur, Secretary to the Government of Karnataka, Department of Electronics, IT, Bt, and Science & Technology.
A Strategic Global Initiative
Aligned with Karnataka’s Global Innovation Alliances (GIA) initiative, the collaboration aims to promote knowledge-sharing and accelerate innovation across borders.
Key areas of focus include building Twin City Collaboration between Bengaluru and New Brunswick and supporting public-private sector partnerships to enhance healthcare and technological outcomes.
The agreement highlights Karnataka’s vision to establish itself as a leader in emerging technologies and innovative solutions, further strengthening its global ties in critical sectors.
