To further enhance preparedness, Jaipur International Airport recently organized a CPR training session for airport employees, duty managers, and housekeeping staff.

Jaipur International Airport has enhanced its medical emergency services by installing five Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machines at key locations within the terminal.

These portable devices are designed to assist passengers experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs can deliver a controlled electric shock to restore normal heart rhythms, significantly increasing the chances of survival.

"AED machines have been strategically placed throughout the terminal to deliver immediate assistance during cardiac emergencies," said a senior airport official.

The AEDs are equipped with automatic voice instructions, making them easy to use for both staff and passengers. By simply pressing a button, the device guides users through the process, allowing even those without medical training to assist in an emergency.

CPR Training for Airport Staff

To further enhance preparedness, Jaipur International Airport recently organized a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session for airport employees, duty managers, and housekeeping staff.

The training aims to equip personnel with the skills to provide immediate assistance in the event of a cardiac emergency until professional medical help arrives.

"The objective of the CPR training is to enable staff to deliver quick responses during emergencies, ensuring workplace safety and potentially saving lives," the official added.

Dr Aparna Pandey, a critical care consultant who led the training, emphasized the importance of CPR as a life-saving skill that can be used anywhere.

"At times of crisis, AED machines can act as life-saving agents. All public and private establishments should consider installing them, especially in high-traffic areas," Dr Pandey suggested.

In another development, last month, the Rajasthan government announced preparing to introduce a new policy aimed at promoting medical tourism, according to an official from the state's medical and health department.

The 'Heal in Rajasthan' policy is designed to position the state as a leader in the health sector and create significant opportunities for investment and employment. The draft policy outlines plans to establish hubs for medical tourism, catering to both domestic and international patients seeking secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care procedures.
