India, Singapore Invite Joint Health Tech Proposals Under 2025 Research Call

The program focuses on advancing cross-border collaboration in healthcare technology, prioritizing digital health and MedTech.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Government of India, and Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR) have jointly launched the 2025 Call for Proposals to support collaborative research in digital health and medical technologies.

According to the announcement, the initiative will fund joint projects led by one Indian principal investigator and one Singapore-based public sector researcher.

Industry partners may participate on a self-funded basis. Selected proposals will receive funding support for up to three years, covering research staff, project expenses, and researcher exchange visits.

The program focuses on advancing cross-border collaboration in healthcare technology, prioritizing digital health and MedTech. Funding agencies in both countries have stated that the aim is to support research of strategic relevance that can generate scalable, applied outcomes.

An official statement from the DST noted, “The initiative seeks to foster impactful scientific partnerships that address healthcare challenges through bilateral research efforts.”

No specific funding cap per project has been disclosed. The agencies have not yet detailed evaluation metrics or the number of proposals that will be selected.

While the call also includes green hydrogen under its scope, the DST and A*STAR have emphasized the importance of healthcare-focused proposals in areas such as diagnostics, remote monitoring, and medical device innovation.

Applications for the program are now open, and researchers from both countries are expected to submit proposals aligned with the outlined thematic areas.
