Jadhav also highlighted that more than 3.63 lakh health facilities are now registered on the Health Facility Registry, and over 5.64 lakh healthcare professionals have been enrolled in the Healthcare Professional Registry.

The Union Minister of State for Health, Prataprao Jadhav, informed the Rajya Sabha that over 73.98 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) have been created, with more than 49.06 crore health records successfully linked to these accounts.

This data reflects the government's continued push towards digitizing healthcare under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

In his written reply, Jadhav also highlighted that more than 3.63 lakh health facilities are now registered on the Health Facility Registry (HFR), and over 5.64 lakh healthcare professionals have been enrolled in the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR).

The data was collected up to February 6, underscoring significant strides in establishing a robust digital health infrastructure.

Building a Unified Digital Health Ecosystem

The ABDM was launched with the primary aim of fostering interoperability within India’s healthcare ecosystem, enabling the creation of electronic health records for every citizen.

Key components of the mission include the ABHA, HPR, HFR, and a comprehensive drug registry.

“Inclusion remains a cornerstone of ABDM,” Jadhav emphasized, noting that the digital health ecosystem supports seamless continuity of care across primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities.

He added that the mission plays a pivotal role in improving healthcare access, particularly in remote and rural regions, by leveraging technologies like telemedicine.

To ensure the mission's benefits reach all citizens, several measures have been implemented.

The ABHA portal (abha.abdm.gov.in) and government personal health record (PHR) applications, including the ABHA app and Aarogya Setu, have been made multilingual and user-friendly to address challenges related to digital literacy.

For regions with limited internet connectivity or hardware infrastructure, the ABDM offers assisted and offline modes for ABHA creation.

“These steps are essential to ensure that every citizen can participate in and benefit from the digital health revolution,” Jadhav concluded.
