These PG diploma programs are poised to equip participants with an in-depth understanding of the 'Digital Health' sphere, propelling them toward unrivalled career growth and excellence.
This initiative offers aspiring students a comprehensive educational journey to equip them with expertise in the convergence of healthcare and technology.
The courses include a year (53 weeks) long curriculum and provide an encompassing self-paced learning experience. The online delivery format ensures participants can learn flexibly, accommodating individual preferences and schedules.
Upon successful program completion, participants will earn the esteemed '˜Executive Alumni' title jointly awarded by the esteemed Indian Institute of Management- Raipur and Digital Health Academy.
While launching the course, Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, the founder of Digital Health Academy, said, "Lacking formal training in Digital Health could hinder one's career in the next three to five years, prompting us to develop this world-class course. The course originated from a thorough two-year research effort involving global authorities in Digital Health."
He further informed that the courses draw insights from over 60 influential figures across diverse healthcare sectors, including hospitals, pharmaceuticals, research and development, med-tech, information technology, regulatory bodies, and policy-making entities in regions such as the USA, UK, EU, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
Further, as per Gupta, extensive research spanning 127 countries led to the meticulous tailoring of this course, offering a unique fusion of a comprehensive framework, enriching content, and instruction by the foremost global experts in Digital Health.
Participants will access valuable learning materials, including comprehensive study resources covering pivotal topics, pre-recorded video lectures by accomplished Digital Health Practitioners, and curated reading materials featuring reputable journals and pertinent articles.
Throughout the program, students will earn certification by meeting specific criteria, including achieving a 50% score at each level (Basic, Advanced, and Professional), active participation in webinars with a minimum of 50% attendance, and completing a satisfactory dissertation.
Discussing the course, Professor Dr. Ram Kumar Kakani, director of the Indian Institute of Management, said, "Our inaugural batch of this program in collaboration with DHA yielded significant outcomes and positive testimonials. This has prompted us to launch a second batch, anticipating another meaningful engagement with a fresh cohort."
Selection criteria for the course include graduation degree or equivalent, and 25 years or older as of July 20, 2023, and proficiency in English. However, professional degree holders are exempt from the age criterion.
For the PG Certificate Program in Digital Health, applicants should possess a graduation degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in various healthcare roles. Proficiency in English is also a prerequisite for admission.
The selection process is thoughtfully designed to identify candidates aligned with the program's values and objectives. It comprises two stages that assess candidates based on their profiles, experiences, and potential contributions.
Earlier, Dr. Basant Garg, the additional chief executive of NHA, stated that there is a requirement for a skilled workforce to bridge the gap between health and technology. As a result, the NHA is proposing an M.Sc. program in digital health.
This program aims to equip graduates with a comprehensive understanding of health and digital technologies and provide them with foundational skills for biomedical and social media research. Additionally, the program will focus on essential soft skills needed for postgraduates in this field. Presently, such a course is not available anywhere in the country.
