This facility, set up with an investment of $3 million, is situated at the Mallapur Campus in Hyderabad and spans over a 12,000-square-foot area. The facility is equipped to support the clinical manufacturing of a wide range of dosage forms, including oral solids, liquids, topicals, and films.

Hyderabad-based Aragen, a Contract Research and Development Organization (CRO), has commissioned its new formulations manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.

This facility, set up with an investment of $3 million, is situated at the Mallapur Campus in Hyderabad and spans over a 12,000-square-foot area. Further, it is equipped to support the clinical manufacturing of a wide range of dosage forms, including oral solids, liquids, topicals, and films.

Commenting on the development, Manni Kantipudi, CEO of Aragen Life Sciences, said, "With this expansion, we can offer our customers an even broader range of services, from early-stage development to clinical manufacturing, all from a co-located facility."

The facility is outfitted with a comprehensive suite of formulation technologies, including wet granulation, roller compaction, film coating, spray drying, tableting, capsule filling, bottle filling, and blister packing.

Moreover, it has been strategically designed to incorporate nano-milling and hot melt extrusion capabilities by the next year, ensuring that Aragen remains at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation.

Crucially, the facility has undergone inspection and approval by Indian regulatory authorities, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), and the Drug Control Administration (DCA).

It can accommodate flexible batch sizes, ranging from 1,000 doses to 100,000 doses for solid orals and from 1 litre to 100 litres for liquids. The facility will be operated by a team of approximately 60 staff members.

Founded in 2001, Aragen is an R&D and manufacturing partner to the global life sciences industry. The company has a broad range of expertise in small and large molecules and creates real solutions for better health through innovative ideas.

In the previous developments, in May, Aragen Life Sciences joined forces with FAR Biotech, a US-based AI-driven computational drug discovery company in May.

This collaboration was focused on advancing preclinical programs within the field of neurodegeneration. Aragen was expected to assist FAR in developing small molecules targeting neurodegenerative diseases using its experimental discovery platform.
