Implementing Oracle Health’s technology will provide a unified healthcare experience across all HH Health facilities.

Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health), one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the US, is expanding its partnership with Oracle Health to enhance patient care and streamline operations.

By standardizing Oracle Health Foundation’s electronic health record (EHR) across all facilities and deploying Oracle Health Data Intelligence, HH Health aims to improve care coordination, optimize financial performance, and gain deeper insights into patient populations.

HH Health serves northern Alabama and southern Tennessee, operating 14 community-based hospitals and multiple physician practices and clinics. With a workforce of nearly 20,000, the system handles over 100,000 inpatient and more than one million outpatient procedures annually.

Implementing Oracle Health’s technology will provide a unified healthcare experience across all HH Health facilities.

Expanding Electronic Health Records Across Facilities

The transition to a standardized EHR system is intended to ensure consistent patient experiences and improve healthcare coordination across the network. The system has already been launched at Helen Keller Hospital and Red Bay Hospital, as well as in 41 physician practices and clinics. Facilities like Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, and Madison Hospital have been using it since 2019, with further implementations planned in the coming years.

Rick Corn, vice president and chief information officer of Huntsville Hospital Health System, emphasized the significance of the expansion, stating:

“As we continue to connect and grow the hospitals across our region, we’ve selected Oracle Health as our primary healthcare technology collaborator to help us fulfill our vision of implementing an integrated patient chart to add to the quality of care, improve patient safety, and enhance continuity of care across our health system.”

Corn also highlighted the importance of community-based hospitals in addressing healthcare challenges, particularly in rural and underserved areas. “This collaboration helps to unify our network, will standardize technology, and allows us to more easily adopt innovative technologies so our facilities can function as one and remain valuable resources to each of their communities.”

Integrating Data Intelligence for Better Decision-Making

In addition to standardizing EHRs, HH Health will implement Oracle Health Data Intelligence later this year. This system is designed to maximize the value of patient data, support healthcare innovation, and enhance patient engagement. The platform integrates data from multiple sources, including clinical records, claims, revenue cycles, and pharmacy records, providing a more comprehensive view of patient health.

Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences, commented on the partnership, saying:

“HH Health's strategic choice to expand its long-standing relationship with Oracle Health speaks volumes about the shared vision, trust, and success we have achieved over the years. Collaborating closely with customers like HH Health is critical as we evolve our technology to better meet the needs of clinicians and patients.”

With this expansion, HH Health expects to streamline healthcare workflows, improve documentation accuracy, and enhance decision-making at the point of care, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
